Several months ago I gave this place a 5 star. Not anymore. There is no park ranger on site and twice this week, the days that I was there, jet skies as well as motor boats go past the buoys at the south end totally ignoring the signs on the buoys that say, no motor craft. This is very concerning as many people, including myself, swim in this area. The jet skiers were going at high speeds and using the buoys as a salmon course. They could not have avoided running over a swimmer if they tried. Same with the boat. Swim at your own risk and hope that you won't get killed by these idiots that either can't read or choose to ignore.
Fun time!! They had just planed 30,000 rainbow trout, and we were all catching a fish almost every cast. Best time to go is in the morning and evening. Use a mepps spinner or cast master for best results. They were not biting on bait.
Great hidden treasure that is less crowded and more fun than Sand Hollow. We went 2 weekends in a row and had a blast. The wind does pick up fast however and it's difficult to get your boat off the water quickly with no safe marina.
We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting zion. From our campsite, the restrooms were a hike unless the campsites between us and the bathroom were empty. The water near the restrooms was not labeled for drinking so we had to go to the drinking water well for water. There were no showers available. For a similar price, we could have stayed somewhere else.
Super nice camp host, quiet, clean, close to Zion, Hurricane and St. George. Fun bike trail right there. Good transistion camp.
